Powerpanel

Bold 3/4 inch ribs and a rainbow of colors allows you to contrast earth tone colors and accessories

What is Powerpanel?

You can’t afford a leaky building. And Powerpanel, with its unique configuration and rib design, keeps water out at joints and keeps your livestock and equipment dry through the heaviest downpours and longest drizzles. When you build with V-crimp or other corrugated steel panels, however, it’s another story. The reason? Water can siphon into the building anywhere the sheets overlap, so you have a greater potential for leaks. But Powerpanel’s special rib design makes it virtually impossible for this siphoning action to occur.

It’s hard to believe that anything as tough and efficient as Powerpanel can look so good - but it does, because it translates the traditional board-and-batten look into colorful, durable galvanized siding and roofing. High 3/4-inch ribs capture a clean, architecturally pleasing, continuous pattern of light and shadow. You get a handsome overall effect that’s far more attractive and adaptable than ordinary V-crimp and similar designs.

As colorful as it is durable, Powerpanel is available in 12 rich, popular colors, carefully selected for their appeal, and vivid enough to stand out without being obtrusive or incompatible with your other buildings.

All interior surfaces are off-white to brighten interiors and to protect against condensation damage. The color-coating on Powerpanel is not only good-looking, it’s built tough to stay that way. The colors are more than just a surface layer of paint. The color-coating is actually a thermo-setting, or oven-cured system of four coatings.

The color coating process includes:

1. A G90 hot-dip galvanized (zinc) coating protects the cold-rolled steel base metal against corrosion and assures years of low-maintenance performance.

2. A zinc phosphate coating prepares the galvanized surface for the tight adhesion of primer.

3. A primer paint coating insures adhesion of the finish coating and protects against corrosion.

4. A siliconized polyester finish paint coating (polyester finish paint coating on Bone White) provides a rich, durable surface color and additional protection.

Powerpanel's strength and durability lends itself to a wide variety of applications and will match existing rib patterns. Good for additions and repair as well as new construction.
Powerpanel's attractive rib pattern provides a contempary style for commercial, residential, and rural buildings enhanced by a 25 year warranty.

Warranty Information

Powerpanel; a warranty you can live with, and an identification concept to make it work.

Color-coated Powerpanel has a 25-year warranty, backed by National Steel, a primary steel producer for more than 50 years. Powerpanel is made right here in the U.S.A. National Steel controls every step of the manufacturing process from iron ore to finished product. More significantly, every sheet of color-coated Powerpanel is “signed” - the back of each panel carries an identification number that represents the month, year and coil number of the steel and its color-coating. This identification is proof that National Steel intends to honor its warranty.

Powerpanel meets building codes.

A Powerpanel structure has no trouble meeting building codes. In areas with excessive wind forces or extraordinary snow loads, framing can be adjusted easily according to distances recommended in Powerpanel load tables.

Powerpanel's unique configuration and rib design eliminates the siphoning potential of V-crimp panels for watertight protection.
Full-hard high tensile strength steel and rib design give Powerpanel exceptionally high spanning properties for its weight and thickness.
High 3/4 inch ribs create a handsome overall effect that's far more attractive and adaptable than V-crimp or similar designs.
