1. Strongpanel/Powerpanel is the brand name of a rib type, color-coated steel roofing and siding panel manufactured by the Granite City Steel Division of National Steel Corporation (“Granite City”). The color-coated finish on Strongpanel/Powerpanel is produced and applied according to standard application practices.Granite City warrants that the color-coated finish applied to its Strongpanel/Powerpanel roofing and siding panels will not, within a period of 25 years after installation or 25 years and six months after the date of shipment of the panels from Granite City (whichever occurs first) under normal atmospheric conditions: blister, peel, check, or lose adhesion: or

2. Chalk in excess of a numerical rating greater than 6 for Strongpanel/Powerpanel installed on roofs or a numerical rating greater than 6 for Strongpanel/Powerpanel installed on side walls for a period of 10 years.

These ratings will be measured in accordance with the standard procedures specified in ASTM-D- 659-80: or

3. Fade by more than 5 units of color difference for color-coated Strongpanel/Powerpanel installed on side walls, nor more than 6 units of color difference for Bone White Strongpanel/Powerpanel installed on roofs, nor more than 8 units of color difference for other color-coated finishes installed on roofs for a period of ten years. These measurements will be made in accordance with the standard procedures specified in ASTM-D-2244-85.

This warranty is expressly subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. The remedy for any claims arising from a defective color-coated finish on Strongpanel/Powerpanel shall be limited to refinishing or replacing the defective panels or, where applicable, a refund. GRANITE CITY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSSES, DAMAGES OR EXPENSES, WHETHER DIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL, CAUSED BY OR RESULTING FROM THE USE OF DEFECTIVE OR NONCONFORMING STRONGPANEL/POWERPANEL PANELS OR FOR ANY OTHER INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. GRANITE CITY’S TOTAL LIABILITY IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE STRONGPANEL/POWERPANEL. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation or exclusion may not apply to a particular consumer.

2. The express warranty herein is the exclusive express warranty applicable to the color-coated finish on Strongpanel/Powerpanel. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE TIME PERIOD OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY SET FORTH HEREIN. Some state do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limitation on the duration of implied warranties may not apply to a particular consumer.

3. This warranty provides specific legal rights, and other rights which may vary from state to state may apply.

4. Claims under this warranty must be made in writing to Hutchison Inc., 7460 Hwy. 85, Adams City, CO 80022 within 30 days after discovery of the defect. Hutchison Inc. shall have an additional 30 days to inspect the Strongpanel/Powerpanel before any further action shall be taken.

5. Abnormal atmospheric conditions to which this warranty does not apply include but are not limited to hail, exposure to saltwater spray, corrosive or harmful chemicals (whether solids, liquids or gases), airborne contaminants, or other abnormal atmospheric conditions of a similar or dissimilar nature.

6. This warranty shall not be applicable to damages or defects caused by acts of God, falling objects, external forces, explosions, fire, riots, civil commotions, acts of war, excessive radiations, or other such similar or dissimilar occurrences beyond Hutchison Inc. control.

7. Defects or damages to the Strongpanel/Powerpanel color-coated finish caused by handling, shipping, transit, processing, storage, or installation are not covered by this warranty. This warranty further shall not extend to or cover damage to the warranted color coating occasioned by moisture or other contamination detrimental to the color-coated metal prior to installation.

8. Minor hairline cracking of the Strongpanel/Powerpanel color-coated finish surface is not covered by this warranty.

9. The Strongpanel/Powerpanel color-coated finish is not warranted to weather uniformly under non-uniform conditions of exposure or use.

10. This warranty also applies to the part we repainted, repaired, or replaced, but only for the unexpired portion of the warranty period applicable to the original part.

11. This warranty applies to the original building owner only and may not be passed on other than as prescribed by law.

12. This warranty applies to material shipped on or after March 1, 1996.
